WHEN SCIENCE MEETS NATURE
What are amino acids?
Amino acids are essential for your skin. They already occur naturally in the skin. They moisturize and ensure that your skin remains healthy, supple and resilient.
What amino acids are there?
There are 22 different types of basic amino acids that your body needs. You can divide these amino acids into three categories:
- Non-Essential Amino Acids. Your body can make these itself.
- Semi-essential amino acids. These are amino acids that your body sometimes doesn’t produce enough to meet your needs, for example when you’re ill or after heavy exertion.
- Essential Amino Acids. Your body cannot produce this and you get it from your diet.
